We come every day. To walk our dog, to exercise our three year old. I grew up on the Great Highway, so I know the neighborhood well. This has changed things for the better.

San Francisco has so much outdoor space… but this is different than anything else. You can run, you can bike, you can roller skate. It’s really cool to see. I hope it stays.

I’m fourth generation San Franciscan, and I think that’s what this whole stretch originally was, was all The Promenade. We didn’t have anything like that for our generation. So I think this is awesome, everyone has sort of invented their own way of hanging out on the highway, and enjoy the ocean.

As a Lower Great Highway resident, I would love for them to divert traffic properly. The speed bumps helped a lot. The drag racing scares the bejeezus out of us. I would love it if the entire Highway was shut off. I like the plan to close it down to the lake and make that a little parklet area, and to re introduce a bunch of native plants to the area.

We see a lot of animals running around. The hawks are back… there’s a lot of owls… a lot more than there used to be because there’s no cars.
