How often do you use the Great Highway park?

This is my second time since it’s been open, and this is fantastic. I can meet my niece, walk the baby and the dogs here. It’s just a whole other open space that didn’t exist before.

The baby was born last January, so the first time I saw him in person was when we walked here over the summer. The first time we met him was on The Great Highway.

What activities do you enjoy there?

Mostly meeting up and walking together

Would you like the Great Highway to remain partially or totally closed to vehicles?

People need a place to go. I hope they maintain some of it for people in the future… you can’t have enough park space, right?

What does The Great Highway Park mean to you?

Up until (the closure to vehicles) I haven’t spent any time on foot here in my life, and I’ve lived in the city since 1963. Because it was never available… But to open it up in the middle of this pandemic to people, it’s just a huge gift.
